Trustees (voluntary roles)

As part of Freeways Business plan for expansion and Freeways Trust Strategic Estate Plan, we have exciting opportunities for new trustees to join our Boards.  Trustees will work across 2 charities; Freeways and Freeways Trust.  The trustee role is a voluntary position that oversees the running of the charities.

We are looking for a wide range of skills and experience including (but not limited to):

  • Finance (at a senior level)
  • Property Development and/or Construction
  • Business Development
  • IT/Systems
  • Human Resources/Training/Recruitment
  • Marketing/PR/Communications


 The role requires approximately 8 hours each month for:

  • Board meetings and working groups (within area of expertise) at our head office set in the tranquil surroundings of Leigh Woods, just outside of Bristol.
  • Occasional travel to our services across Banes, South Gloucestershire, Bristol and North Somerset. 
  • Reading documents in preparation for meetings.

Head of Finance


30 to 37.5 hours per week

£40,000 - £45,000 per annum (Pro rata) 

An exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant to join the two charities who are entering a new phase of development as they seek to significantly improve and expand the range of services on offer against the challenging financial context for social care.  

The post will report directly to the Finance Director and lead a team of five finance staff.  They are responsible for all routine processing and reporting and will assist in the development of new strategies, systems and services

Positive Behaviour Support Assistants

Abbots Leigh

Full time (37.5 hours per week) and Part time positions

£18000 per annum (pro rata)

An excellent opportunity has arisen within Freeways to join our new purpose built supported living service for 3 individuals with complex needs. The service is set in tranquil surroundings on the edge of Leigh Woods.

We are looking for Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Assistants to work as part of a small team under the guidance of the PBS Manager to provide high quality consistent support in line with best practice and appropriate regulatory, contractual and legal requirements.


The ideal candidate will hold or willing to undertake the Diploma Level 3 (or above) in Health and Social Care and have experience relevant to the role.
