Responsibilities

• To respond to the particular needs of individual service users in relation to the nature of their learning disability or other support need (including physical or mental health).

Job Description:

Responsibilities

• Recording and reconciling petty cash
• Balancing service user’s money
• Monitoring/inputting and record keeping of bank statements
• Supporting independence with monies including the use of Soldo cards
• Liaising with Head Office finance staff on issues relating to petty cash and/or service user finance records
• General office tasks as required
• Working with the staff team
• Weekly/monthly auditing
• Excellent record keeping

About You:

The ideal candidate will have good understanding of financial transactions and will be supporting people with financial assistance, including Department of Work and Pensions and benefits processes. You must have good numeracy and IT skills (including in the use of excel), be confident in handling cash and able to travel a short distance between two of our closely located Clevedon services.

About the Role

As a PBS Assistant Manager you will be leading a team of PBS Assistants in the day to day running of a high quality support service for a person who communicates through their behaviour. You will ensure services are delivered in a way that puts people we support at the centre of the service they receive and promotes rights, choice, dignity and diversity. This support will be in line with best practice and meet appropriate regulatory, contractual and legal requirements. In the absence of the Manager you will take responsibility for the running of the service.

You will help manage a team of PBS Assistants centred around a person with complex presentation, which may include, learning disabilities, mental health issues, autism and communication differences alongside ongoing physical health conditions. They may also have a forensic background.

You and your team will support people with any aspect of their day to day living. You’ll work in a person-centred, strengths-based and psychologically informed way, so they can enjoy the best possible quality of life. You’ll develop and review Support Plans, PBS Plans and Risk assessments that enable the person to live as independently possible.

This exciting opportunity will involve a mixture of office based and support work. There is a requirement for flexible working including evenings, weekends and sleeps.

About you

The ideal candidate will have or be willing to undertake a Diploma Level 5 in Positive Behaviour Support – BILD and have experience relevant to the role. Knowledge of current regulations and legislation regarding care and support is essential. They must also have experience in leading and managing a team.

Responsibilities will include:

· Carrying out regular checks on residents/tenants as necessary with due regard to residents privacy.

· Security and fire prevention checks

· Dealing with any emergency with residents during the night and dealing with it appropriately and according to agreed procedures

· To be knowledgeable of all residents’/tenants’ needs and understand how to deal with all eventualities

· To assist when residents are getting up and maintain the morning routine with day staff

· To write a brief report regarding any issues at night

· Undertake domestic duties, such as laundry and ironing, food preparation, cleaning kitchens, bathrooms, toilets and communal areas as required.

​The Role

​You will ensure our staff are confident, CQC-compliant and equipped with the specialist skills needed to provide truly person-centred care.

​What you’ll be doing

• ​Designing Learning: Creating engaging and blended staff training from hands-on workshops to digital modules.
• ​Leading Compliance: Overseeing our mandatory staff training (Care Certificate, Safeguarding, MCA) and keeping us ‘Inspection Ready’.
• ​Championing Specialist Care: Rolling out high-impact programs like the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training.
• ​Empowering Teams: Working with Service Managers to identify skills gaps and supporting staff through NVQs and apprenticeships.

​ About You

​As an experienced Learning and Development Lead/Co-ordinator. You should have:

• ​Sector Knowledge: Experience in Adult Social Care and an understanding of CQC standards.
• ​​The Right Values: Values which align with social care including dignity and respect but also an understanding of the value of working in a charity
• ​Technical ability: Comfortable introducing a Learning Management System (LMS).
